Jim Barton

Board of Directors

Jim Barton was born and raised in Hamilton and from a young age had an undeniable entrepreneurial spirit. In 1990, combining his plumbing trade with that spirit, Jim founded L.J. Barton Mechanical Inc.

Over thirty years later, LJB has grown to be the ‘go to’ multi-trade contracting company in the industrial, commercial, and institutional sectors throughout southwestern Ontario. Known for delivering a standard of care and excellence, quality of work, and value that exceeds industry benchmarks and customer expectations, LJB construction teams can be seen at large job sites working on a variety of projects ranging from schools and universities, hospitals, wineries, and sporting facilities.

Throughout the years, Jim and the members of the LJB team have made donations and volunteered many hours to lending a helping hand where the need arises, ranging from food bank programs, Habitat for Humanity, and also with the Cancer Assistance Program.

Jim and his wife, Jan, live on Maple Tree Farm and produce maple syrup as a hobby. When not in the forest, Jim enjoys life on the water sailing and spending time with their children and growing number of grandchildren…and two Berners, Murphy, and Willow.
