Hal Hirte

Hal is a retired medical oncologist.  He was on staff at the Juravinski Cancer Centre for 35 years during which time he served as the head of the division of medical oncology and Chief of Oncology at Hamilton Health Sciences.  He also had the opportunity to play leadership roles in national organizations, including the Canadian Cancer Trials Group, the Canadian Association of Medical Oncologists, and the Society of Gynecologic Oncology of Canada.

He resides in Burlington with his wife where they enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren.  He is active with community groups involved in refugee sponsorship and he is looking forward to working with the CAP Board to assist cancer patients and their families in their treatment journey.
