The Cancer Assistance Program (CAP) is a volunteer driven organization
The Cancer Assistance Program (CAP) is dependent primarily upon volunteers for program planning, fund development and all aspects of service delivery as well as organizational governance.
Through the engagement of volunteers CAP is able to keep its costs low, comparative to organizations that rely primarily upon paid staff. The programs and services offered address the social, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of individuals with cancer and their support network.
By contributing their time to CAP, volunteers are able to spend their days in a rewarding manner. They meet and work along-side of an incredible team of men and women who also volunteer their time and, more importantly, make a difference in the lives of individuals and families affected by cancer.
A variety of volunteer opportunities exist:
Volunteers drive individuals to and from cancer-related medical appointments.

Client Services Assistant
Volunteers greet, engage and register clients for available services and issue requested cancer-support equipment and personal care products.

Equipment Technician Assistant
Volunteers repair and/or sanitize home health equipment.

Event Planning Committee Member
Volunteers offer assistance in the planning and facilitation of various cancer assistance fundraising events.

Volunteers offer support for such things as data entry, inventory management, mail processing, etc.

Board and Governance Committee Member
Volunteers provide governance and oversight of organizational activities as a board member. Governance Committee volunteers offer subject-matter expertise as a member of a committee of the board. Committees include Finance & Investments, Marketing & Communications, Fund Development and Human Resources & Policy.
