Volunteer


The Cancer Assistance Program has a long and lasting legacy of volunteer involvement. Our volunteers are the front lines of the organization, providing direct service to our clients. We couldn’t do what we do without our volunteers.

By contributing their time and energy to CAP, volunteers are able to spend their days in a rewarding manner. They work as part of an incredible team of people who are busy making a difference in the lives of individuals and families affected by cancer. Whatever your interests are, we have a place for you.

A variety of volunteer opportunities exist:

Volunteer Driver

As a volunteer driver, you will help by providing essential transportation for individuals attending cancer-related medical appointments within the greater Hamilton area. We are seeking dedicated volunteers who can commit to at least one full day per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00am-6:00pm.

Client Services Volunteer

CAP’s client service volunteers play a crucial role in welcoming and registering clients for our wide range of practical services. This role also offers the opportunity to engage in administrative duties, such as data entry, front desk reception and handling phone calls. We are looking for dedicated volunteers who can commit to at least one full or half-day per week, Monday through Friday, between 9:00am-4:30pm.

Equipment Technician Assistant

Volunteers work in the shop located within our office to repair and/or sanitize donated and returned home health equipment. We need equipment technician assistants with the ability to commit to at least one full or half-day shift per week; Monday through Friday, between 9:00am-4:30pm.

Event Planning Committee Member

Event Volunteer, Day Of

Event volunteers will offer support and assistance during CAP’s signature fundraising events. Commitment includes assisting on event days and contributing to execution and promotional efforts.

Event Volunteer Day Of Position Description

Board of Directors or Committee Member

Volunteers provide governance and oversight of organizational activities as a board member. Committee volunteers offer subject-matter expertise as a member of a committee of the board.
