We had a spectacular evening this past Friday, at our annual Gala – Dream Beyond the Stars! Once again, we had 600 guests joining us at Michelangelo Events and Conference Centre, supporting the Cancer Assistance Program. We are so truly appreciative of the support received from our many attendees, donors and sponsors.
We are so excited to be able to share the many photos from our recent Gala – Dream Beyond the Stars. We hope you will enjoy this small glimpse into the evening – an evening which hosts CAP’s biggest fundraiser and highest profile event of the year.
We are already excited for what our 2017 Gala will bring.
On August 10th we hosted our 38th annual Golf Classic. The day was a great success, despite the (felt like) 40 degree heat. For the second year in a row, we sold out, raising much needed funds to support the delivery of free services for men, women and children affected by cancer.
A huge thank you goes out to our Golf Classic Committee, event volunteers, the Carlisle Golf & Country Club, our sponsors and donors and, of course, the many folks who took part in the day.
We are already looking forward to next year’s tournament, scheduled for August 2017.
Well, it was a scorcher, but our second annual CARE Walk was a huge success this past Saturday.
We had over 100 walkers (more than double of last year’s inaugural Walk) and have raised over $18,000 so far – a 60% increase over 2015! A HUGE thank you goes out to Continue Reading
At CAP’s Annual Volunteer Appreciation and Annual General Meeting, we were able to recognize 166 men, women and youth who volunteered their time with CAP, over the last 15 months. These 166 individuals have a combined contribution to CAP of over 930 years! And … Continue Reading
Thank-you to ArcelorMittal Dofasco for making a difference in the lives of individuals affected by cancer!
We are thrilled to announce that ArcelorMittal Dofasco has donated $20,000, through its Corporate Community Investment Fund, to support CAP’s Home ealth Equipment Loan Program.
Through CAP’s equipment loan program, individuals with cancer, living in the greater region of Hamilton and surrounding communities, are able to borrow as many pieces of home health equipment as needed, for as long as required, at no cost to them. Like all of CAP’s services, this program is experiencing a significant increase in demand. Over 4,900 pieces of equipment had been loaned out to the many men and women accessing CAP’s services in 2014. This was a 7% increase over the year prior. In the first six months of 2015, our active clients have already received more than 4,900 pieces of home health equipment.
ArcelorMittal Dofasco’s generous donation will support our equipment maintenance activities, including sanitizing and repair of all equipment prior to it being loaned out, while also ensuring we are spreading the word about this valuable service and evaluating the effectiveness and impact of the same.
